Latin Name: Philodendron mayoi 'Tahiti'
Description: A large-leaved philodendron, with deeply dissected, palm-like foliage. The new leaves emerge from the light pink petioles raveled up, and slowly unravel to reveal their beautiful, glossy finish and gorgeously unique shape. Philodendrons love to climb, and can develop aerial roots to help them do so. A moss pole or trellis would be beneficial for a 'Tahiti', as would a humidifier or a small tray of pebbles with water under the pot during winter months to help add humidity for your tropical plant. Fairly easy to care for, and does not require a lot of water once established.
Watering: Ensure the soil is moist, but never allow the plant to sit in standing water. Allow the top inch to two inches of soil to dry before watering. Usually needs water every 1-2 weeks. Does best in a chunky, well draining soil mix.
Growth Rate: Rapid rate of growth, but may slow down during winter months
Shape: Trailing/Climbing/Mounding
Sun or Shade: Best suited for bright, indirect light, though can tolerate quite low light conditions
Difficulty level: Fairly Easy
