Be Bop Deluxe
Description:
The band debuted in 1974, and was one of the first bands to practice the New Wave sound, which became a movement around 1980. Recorded at ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS/AIR STUDIOS in the fall of 1975, this is the best of the British twisted pop band BE-BOP DELUXE led by the genius BILL NELSON. The band introduced synthesizers in a big way, including the catchy, radio-friendly hit single "Ships in the Night," and their reputation for being "five years behind the times" was well deserved. ANDY CLARK, who was a member of the band on the '75 tour, officially joined the band, and this is the first album with the strongest lineup of BILL NELSON (vocals/guitar/keyboards), CHARLIETUMAHAI (bass/vocals), ANDY CLARK (keyboards) and SIMON FOX (drums). This was also the first album with this lineup, and the first album co-produced by BILL NELSON and JOHN LECKIE.Newly remastered from the original master tapes.
