Omega Constellation 168.044
The Omega Constellation 168.044 is a distinctive late-1960s/early-1970s chronometer dress watch, notable for its bold “TV-shaped” case and striking vignette dial. Typically measuring around 33 × 40 mm, it features a brushed steel case, a domed plexiglass crystal, and a richly coloured sunburst dial that darkens toward the edges—often referred to as a “green smoke” or vignette effect. Powered by Omega’s automatic calibre 1001 chronometer movement, it includes a date function and central seconds. Unlike sportier Omega models, it is not designed for water resistance, instead emphasising vintage design and precision, with the Constellation’s signature observatory medallion on the caseback.
