Keith interpreted Pam as actress Pam Grier known in the early 1970s for starring in a string of women in prison and blaxploitation films.
Lennon wrote this song about a girl he met once that dressed up in polythene. The name 'Polythene Pam' came from the nickname of an early Beatles' fan from the early days, named Pat Hodgett, who would often eat polythene, thus known as 'Polythene Pat'.
