To commemorate the 30th anniversary of his death, this rare recording was released on the prestigious Storyville label, the pride of Denmark. Recorded in July 1964 at the jazz club "Cafe Montmartre" in Copenhagen. It was recorded in July 1964 at a jazz club "Cafe Montmartre" in Copenhagen, a year after the recording of the historical masterpiece "Our Man in Paris", and was performed at the height of its peak. The members were Tete Montreux (p), Niels Pedersen (b), and Alex Riehl (ds), all of whom represented the best of European jazz at the time of the recording in 1964. The LP version of this album features four songs: "Carnival Morning," "Misty," and original compositions by Dexter and Sonny Stitt, all in live versions. The recording is in excellent condition and the sound quality is very clear and crisp. The 18-year-old Niels Pedersen's prodigious bass playing and the lyrical piano solo by Tete Montreux are also noteworthy.
