Furtwängler's live performance of Frank's Symphony and Brahms' 2nd Symphony, which was recorded just before Furtwängler's exile to Switzerland, has become a legendary work due to its tremendous performance. The two performances of the Frank Symphony and Brahms No. 2 are now legendary for their tremendous performances. Our series released GS-2132 (out of print) in 2015 on two-track, 19 cm open-reel tape, and after almost eight years, we have renewed the sound quality and re-recorded it in our catalog. First, Franck used a newly acquired 2-track, 38 cm open-reel tape to obtain a more stable sound quality. Brahms used the same 2-track, 19 cm tape used for GS-2132, but the entire mastering process was done with professional equipment to improve the sound quality. There are various theories as to the date, but here we use "January 28" for both tracks according to the recordings on the tape obtained in Berlin (used for GS-2132).(Naoya Hirabayashi) King International
