Description:
[Herbert von Karajan, a great conductor who reigned over the classical music world in the 20th century with his outstanding musicality and charisma. This is a live performance of the "All Souls' Day" Memorial Concert held on November 20, 1983 at his home base, the Berlin Philharmonic, from the "Karajan's Legacy" series, which Karajan actively worked on in his later years in the 1980s. The "Alpine Symphony" is an orchestral depiction of a day in the Alps, beginning with dawn, followed by scenes at the summit of the mountain, and ending with the descent into the sunset. It was completed as a magnificent work of nature worship. In addition to Karajan's skillful musical expression in eloquently narrating this magnificent symphony, his accurate description of the scene and his imaginative performance of the scene make for a wonderful performance.Recorded: November 20, 1983 at Philharmonie Berlin (live) *Upconverted from LD master to Blu-ray Disc. The sound source is remastered by b-sharp (planned).
