The quartet is dedicated to performing and promoting not only Martinů's works but also those of Dvořák, Eben, and other Czech composers. This album contains two string quartets: the "Kreutzer Sonata," with a series of frenzied sounds that are said to depict the inner life of the hero, and "The Secret Letter," which reflects Janacek's state of mind in his later years.
