Dream Theater
Description:
Dream Theater's 11th official bootleg is Iron Maiden's "The Number of the Beast" performed live in its entirety! Dream Theater, the king of progressive metal, is releasing the "Lost Not Forgotten Archives" series of official bootlegs of live performances, demos, studio outtakes and other treasured recordings. The 11th in the series is "The Number of the Beast (2002)," a live album of Iron Maiden's masterpiece third album "The Number of the Beast," featuring cover versions of all the songs. When Dream Theater toured at that time, they had a unique plan to perform the second night of two consecutive nights at the same venue, and on the second night, they performed a complete re-creation of their influences' classic albums in the second half of the setlist.Like the live performance of Metallica's "Master of Puppets" (released in the fourth volume of this bootleg series), this is a different repertoire and a different band formation from the one that usually performs it, but the charm (magic) of this historical masterpiece is expressed in the Dream Theater style with the extremely accomplished performance and James Labrie's extended, high tone vocals. The band's high tone vocals express the charm (magic) of this historical masterpiece in Dream Theater's style. The jazzy arrangement of "Gangland" towards the end of the album is a clear indication of the band's musical flexibility and mastery of their craft, as well as the fact that they do not completely copy the original. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Iron Maiden's 1982 release of this album, and Dream Theater's release can be seen as a subtle celebration of the band's success.
