The Striped Fleur Immortelle Gown is a Marie Antoinette corset gown inspired by the striped silks and florals that emerged in 18th-century French fashion as expressions of modernity, rhythm, and refined taste. While earlier court dress favored solid fields of color and heavy brocades, the introduction of vertical stripes, often interwoven with floral motifs, signaled a shift toward movement, lightness, and visual sophistication.

In the period, striped textiles were associated with fashionable experimentation and were frequently worn for portrait sittings, garden assemblies, and informal court appearances. The vertical stripe elongated the silhouette while subtly emphasizing the body’s natural lines, allowing the structure of the garment to remain visible beneath surface decoration. Inspired by the historic robe à la française, the Immortelle Gown is a modern corset gown interpretation rather than a historical reproduction. It honors the structure, romance, and grandeur of the Rococo era while embracing contemporary atelier craftsmanship, comfort, and versatility.

Each gown features a fully built-in corset constructed with coated spiral steel boning for sculpted support and shaping. Adjustable front and back modesty panels provide up to eight inches of expandability, allowing for a more personalized and adaptable fit over time.

Designed to be worn over panniers, side hoops, or full hoop skirts, the Immortelle Gown may be styled with removable stomachers, layered skirts, and decorative panels to create a silhouette unique to the wearer.
