Bold gold. Continuous sparkle.
The cigar band, with a continuous row of pavé-set round brilliant diamonds along its 6mm flat-edge surface. Bold meets brilliant — a wide, weighted band of solid gold or platinum, lit up by a hand-set line of 1.5mm round brilliants laid edge to edge.
Pavé (French for paved) describes the way the diamonds are set: small stones held by tiny shared beads of metal, sitting flush against each other so the surface reads almost continuously sparkling rather than as individual stones. On the wide canvas of a cigar band, the effect is striking — a clean, substantial silhouette with one uninterrupted line of light running across it.
Worn as a wedding band, a fine jewellery statement piece, or both. Equally beautiful solo or stacked with a delicate engagement ring for full editorial contrast.
Handcrafted to order in our Sydney workshop by our master jeweller — thirty-plus years at the bench, leading a team of designers and setters who hand-make every Deltora ring. Choose your metal, your diamond (natural or lab grown), and we'll bring it to life by hand.
Ring details
What is a pavé setting? Pavé (French for paved) is a setting style where small diamonds are held in place by tiny shared beads or prongs of metal — set so close together that the surface looks almost entirely paved with diamonds rather than featuring individual stones. The result is a continuous line of brilliance with minimal visible metal.
What is a pavé cigar band? A pavé cigar band combines two distinct styles: the wide, weighted cigar band silhouette (5–10mm wide, named after the paper bands wrapped around cigars) with pavé-set diamonds running across the surface. The result reads as both bold (the chunky band) and brilliant (the line of diamonds) — a wedding band that does both at once.
Is the pavé cigar band a unisex ring? Yes. Like the plain cigar band, the pavé version is genderless by design — the wide profile suits any hand, and the diamond detail is restrained enough to feel modern rather than overly delicate. We craft it in widths from 5mm to 10mm.
Will a pavé cigar band sit flush against my engagement ring? The 6mm width works alongside most engagement rings, though the substantial profile means it reads as a co-star rather than a quiet supporting act. For high-contrast styling, pair with a delicate solitaire. For matched proportions, pair with a bolder engagement ring.
Can pavé diamonds fall out? Pavé settings, when properly made, are extremely durable — but because the diamonds are small and held by tiny prongs, they benefit from slightly more careful wear than larger claw-set stones. We recommend annual cleaning and inspection (offered as part of our lifetime aftercare) to keep the setting secure for years to come.
Can the band be engraved? Yes — internal engraving is offered on every Deltora cigar band. The pavé sits on the exterior, leaving the interior entirely free for engraving.
Can I customise this ring? Yes — every Deltora cigar band is handcrafted to order. Choose your metal, your diamond type (natural or lab grown), your width, and your finish on the non-pavé portion of the band.
Which metal looks best? Yellow gold (pictured) gives the diamonds a warm, editorial setting — a popular choice for pavé. White gold and platinum read coolest and let the diamonds appear brightest. Rose gold reads softest. Personal preference rules.
