Effects of this medicine
・This medicine suppresses reabsorption of bile acids and increases the flow of bile acids to the colon. It consequently promotes moisture/electrolyte secretion to the colon, enhances bowel movement, and then exerts a therapeutic effect on constipation.
・It is usually used to treat chronic constipation (excluding constipation due to organic diseases).
Dosing schedule (How to take this medicine)
・In general, for adults, take 2 tablets (10 mg of elobixibat) at a time, once a day before meal. The dosage may be adjusted according to your symptoms. However, the maximum daily dose is 3 tablets (15 mg). Strictly follow the instructions.
・If you miss a dose, take a dose before next meal. You should never take two doses at one time.
Before using this medicine, be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
・If you have or are suspected of having intestinal obstruction due to tumor or hernia.
・If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

・Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
