A beauty of an antique paint decorated box, second half 19th century I believe, with theorem painted flowers over a sort of grain painted surface, plus gold flourishes at the corners. And with the happy surprise of hand-marbled paper lining the interior, original/period to it I do believe. (I'd guess there was once likely an interior tray too, which may have helped with keeping the paper of the lining in good shape.) Quite a radiance to the yellow and pink paint on the flowers, and really just a lovely thing. 

9 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 3 5/8" t. Very good condition. Hinges in good shape, study and sound, lid closes flush and square.
