The number of Watts is the energy consumption of the lamp. The number of Watts is the consumption per hour. A 60W lamp that is on for 10 hours therefore consumes 60 x 10 = 600 Watt hours What are lumens? Lumen is a unit for light output. The higher the number of lumens, the more light the lamp gives. This has nothing to do with the color of the light. To compare lamps, it is best to compare the number of lumens. With LED lighting, 95% of the energy is converted into light. This means that only a small part is converted into heat, keeping energy consumption significantly lower.
