Gan Yam means Going Home in the Cumbrian dialect. The brewery was founded on friendship, a love of home brewing and 7 friends returning from London to their hometown of Kendal. Gan Yam produce outstanding quality beers and have a real focus on the community of Kendal. They support charities, the arts and are central to bringing their local community together. They run a hiking club; what a combination - hiking in Cumbria and beer! Gan Yam host various events, even supporting a bi-monthly fermentation club where the focus isn't just beer, but all things fermented.
