1980’s Made in England Adidas Track Jacket from the mid 80’s era. Very similar to the French, Adidas Ventex pieces - British factories possessed the advanced machinery to blend polyester and triacetate. This blend yielded a smooth, high-sheen fabric that replicated the exact feel and durability of the famous French Ventex line. The UK was one of Adidas’s most critical lifestyle markets. British casuals and football subcultures adopted these track jackets as a uniform. Local manufacturing facilities in England produced garments specifically to meet high demand and navigate strict import tariffs. This piece alone shows the cult lead behind the 3 stripes and how much England adapted to the tracksuit era during the late 70’s - 80’s and even the 90’s!
