What a unique (and comfy) dress! This beauty was hand made by a California fashion designer in the 1960's. It was a one-of-a-kind sample she made which never went into production. It's Victorian Revival silhouette is truly unique with a cinched waist that flatters the waistline, unique pleating on the bodice, and a dramatic high & ruffled collar. The dress was fashioned out of a slinky smooth deep lavender, semi-sheer polyester blend with monochromatic high gloss ribbon detailing. There are three covered buttons at the back neckline. The cuffs of the sleeves have matching covered buttons. It has it's original matching fabric belt, intended to be worn at the cinched waistline. The sample sizing label inside notes the piece as a size 8. It would fit a modern day Medium perfectly, but due to the nature of the silhouette a Small or Large could fit it as well.
